Position Summary:


The Radiation Therapist, under the direct supervision of the Radiation Therapy Manager and in accordance with established policies and procedures, is responsible for providing radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician, following established standards and practices. This position involves confidential work and may require the completion of additional duties as needed within the department. Experience with Aria, Eclipse Treatment Planning, and Phillips CT software is preferred.
The Radiation Therapist should possess a strong knowledge of healthcare informatics, including the resources, devices, and methods used to acquire, store, and retrieve data. Tools include computers, clinical guidelines, current medical terminology, and information and communication systems. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential to facilitate the exchange of information with patients, family members, the radiation oncology treatment team, and outside entities.
The role requires high-level critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and the capability to collaborate effectively with the Radiation Oncology team. A solid understanding of radiation safety principles and practices, as well as current rules and regulations from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other regulatory agencies, is also essential.

Minimum Qualifications:


•    Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy or equivalent required 
•    Radiation Therapy Certification required; must be in good standing
•    Basic Life Support (BLS) required 
•    One to two years of experience in radiation therapy is preferred
